World-Famour Singer-Rapper Rilés to Perform at Budapest Park

Rilés returns to Hungary: after two Sziget Festival shows, the French-Algerian singer-rapper will give a solo concert at Budapest Park on May 31, 2026.

The performer is one of the most original and inspiring artists of our time, known for his creative freedom, independence and incredible work ethic - the organizers told MTI on Friday.

The 29-year-old Rilés comes from Rouen, and after graduating from high school, he studied English literature to develop his songwriting skills.

Before making music, he also painted, and used the money he received from this and his scholarship to build a studio in his own bedroom.
He taught himself how to compose, engineer, mix and master using YouTube videos - a DIY approach that has been the cornerstone of his art ever since. Since 2014, he has been writing, arranging, recording and mixing all his music himself, and he also directs and edits all his videos himself. Between 2016 and 2017, he released a new song every Sunday for a year.

From the first songs to world fame

He caught the world's attention with the project "Rilesundayz Season I" and achieved more than 100 million YouTube views completely independently, without the help of a label.

In 2019, his first album, Welcome to the Jungle, was released on Republic Records. The French Zenith tour was sold out, as were his concerts in London, North Africa and Eastern Europe. Two years later, he returned to independence and launched Rilesundayz Season II, which opened a new era in his oeuvre with a more sophisticated sound and aesthetic.

After the second season, Rilés began his new album, Survival Mode, while also embarking on a serious physical challenge: he ran on a treadmill for 24 hours without stopping. The Survival Run resonated worldwide, becoming a symbol of perseverance and mental strength: the video reached almost 22 million views in 24 hours.

Survival Mode was released earlier this year and is one of Rilés' most mature, deepest materials: a manifesto of self-discipline, creative courage and pushing boundaries. This also characterizes his live performances; after 2022, he gave a concert again at the Sziget festival, on the main stage.
