Idles to Perform in Budapest Park Next July

2025.11.06

The world-famous British post-punk band, Idles will be performing in Budapest Park for the second time next summer. Save the date: July 8, 2026!

Formed in 2009, Idles has become one of the most distinctive guitar music formations with its energetic songs, which is made special by its system-critical lyrics and its support for oppressed groups - organizer Live Nation told MTI on Wednesday. The Bristol band (Joe Talbot - vocals, Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan - guitars, Adam Devonshire - bass guitar, Jon Beavis - drums) tackles even the most sensitive topics with their songs, whether it's politics or their own demons.

Idles was formed as a university band. The band, trained on live shows, released their first studio album, Brutalism, in 2017, which was well received by both the public and the industry. Since then, they have made four albums - Joy as an Act of Resistance (2018), Ultra Mono (2020), Crawler (2021), Tangk (2024).

The latest album, Tangk, is the band's most ambitious and shocking work to date. Previously, Idles had depicted the audacity of the world, confronting injustices, but on Tangk, the processing of trauma took center stage, using love, joy and gratitude as a tool. The album radiates radical and defiant affirmation, culminating in the pulsating song Dancer. After Crawler, Tangk became Idles' second album to top the charts in the United Kingdom.

The team has been to Budapest once before, when they achieved success at the Sziget festival in 2019.
