Update Your Maps: Budapest Zoo Opens New Entrance at the Biodome

A new ticket entrance has opened at Budapest Zoo. Visitors can now also begin their zoo adventure from the Biodome, with self-service ticket machines available on-site.

Budapest Zoo has made visiting even more convenient by opening an additional ticket purchase point at the Biodome entrance - the zoo reports on its social media accouns. From July 9, visitors can buy admission tickets there and begin their zoo adventure from the City Oasis side, in addition to the traditional Main Gate and Holnemvolt Castle entrances.

The new entrance is particularly convenient for guests arriving by car and parking in the Zoo's Parking ZOOna, as well as those using Budapest's public transport network. It offers easy access from the Kacsóh Pongrác út stop on tram lines 1 and 1M, or from the Mexikói út terminus served by trams 3 and 69.

Tickets can be purchased from touchscreen self-service kiosks located at the Biodome entrance, while zoo staff are also available to assist visitors if needed.

The new access point comes as the Zoo continues to expand the use of its long-awaited Biodome complex, making it easier for guests to explore the growing attraction.

Founded in 1866, Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden is one of the oldest zoos in the world. Located in City Park (Városliget), it is home to more than a thousand animal species and combines historic architecture with modern wildlife exhibits, making it one of Budapest's most popular attractions for families and animal lovers.

The Zoo's newest landmark is the Biodome, a massive, climate-controlled exhibition complex originally conceived as a tropical ecosystem. While the entire project has not yet been fully completed, parts of the Biodome have now opened to visitors, and the new ticket entrance marks another step in bringing the facility into everyday use.
