The Hungarian Grand Prix attracted another famous face this weekend, with legendary filmmaker George Lucas enjoying the Formula 1 atmosphere at the Hungaroring alongside teams, drivers and VIP guests.

Formula 1 is no stranger to Hollywood stars, but this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix welcomed one of the most influential filmmakers of all time. George Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, was spotted in the Formula 1 paddock during the race weekend at the Hungaroring, delighting both motorsport fans and movie enthusiasts.
Lucas has long been a fan of motorsport and has made several appearances at Formula 1 events over the years. He has previously visited races in Austria, Monaco and the United States, often meeting drivers and team principals while taking in the unique atmosphere of the paddock. Unlike many celebrity guests who make brief promotional appearances, Lucas has developed a genuine interest in the sport and has become a familiar face at select Grands Prix.
At the Hungaroring, Lucas spent time in the paddock ahead of qualifying, greeting members of Formula 1 teams and attracting plenty of attention from photographers and fans. His visit added another touch of glamour to one of the most popular races on the Formula 1 calendar, which regularly attracts celebrities, musicians and actors from around the world.
Although Lucas retired from filmmaking after selling Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012, he continues to make occasional public appearances, particularly at major cultural and sporting events. His visit to Hungary is a reminder of Formula 1's growing appeal beyond motorsport, bringing together technology, entertainment and international celebrity in one of the world's most prestigious racing series.

Located in Mogyoród, around 20 kilometres northeast of central Budapest, the Hungaroring has hosted the Hungarian Grand Prix every year since 1986. It was the first Formula 1 circuit behind the Iron Curtain and has become one of the sport's most historic venues.
The 4.381-kilometre circuit is famous for its tight, twisting layout that rewards precision driving and makes overtaking particularly challenging. Despite this, the track has produced many memorable races and milestone victories over the decades, helping cement its place as a favourite among drivers and fans alike. Recent renovations have modernised the venue while preserving the character that has made the Hungaroring one of Formula 1's most distinctive destinations.
