You can now book a table for Restaurant Week this autumn, when over 200 restaurants, including 15 Michelin-recommended venues, will showcase their finest dishes over 18 days.
From 2 to 19 October, the finest restaurants in Hungary will create and serve multi-course menus at set prices. Top-category restaurants will offer special dishes from 6,900 forints, premium restaurants from 8,900 forints and exclusive restaurants from 10,900 forints, all of which include a service charge, the organisers told MTI.
Of the over 200 participating restaurants, 15 have international Michelin recommendations and some have been awarded the Bib Gourmand.
Rare and special dishes at the Restaurant Week
These excellent, renowned restaurants are each preparing their most popular and special dishes for the occasion, as highlighted in the announcement.
They also drew attention to the fact that prices have not increased this season and that some participating restaurants are offering an even wider selection for a favourable additional surcharge.
The dishes and ingredients used are particularly rare and special, so, in addition to Hungarian variegated beef, guests can taste Namibian zebu, mouflon, marrow bone, rabbit leg, pig's ear, Burgundy snail and frog's leg.
Seafood options this year include lobster, tiger prawns, yellow kingfish and bluefin tuna steak. Traditional flavour lovers will find truffles, duck liver and beefsteak tartare in various forms on the menus.
In accordance with the traditions of the event, the restaurants are preparing to serve guests with special dietary requirements, with gluten-free, lactose-free, sugar-free, vegetarian and vegan dishes also included on the menus.
International cuisine and reservations
Those who love international cuisine can choose from restaurants offering Lebanese, Indian, Japanese, Georgian, Mexican and Moroccan flavours.
The announcement said that table reservations for the event are only possible on their website and are limited in number.
