Important Changes to Metro Services This Weekend

The M2 metro will operate on a shortened route on the evening of November 20 and 21, as well as on the weekend of November 22-23.

The M2 metro will operate between Örs vezér tere and Deák Ferenc tér on the evening of November 20 and 21, as well as on the weekend of November 22-23. A replacement bus with the M2 sign will operate between Deák Ferenc tér and Déli pályaudvar, and trams 4 and 6 will operate more frequently between Pest and Buda for faster travel.

The M2 metro line is undergoing track maintenance between Kossuth Lajos Square and Deák Ferenc Square, so the M2 metro will run on Thursday, November 20th and Friday, November 21st from 9 p.m., and on Saturday, November 22nd and 23rd from 9 p.m., all day long, between Örs vezér square and Deák Ferenc square.

Where will replacement buses run?

A replacement bus with the M2 sign will run between Deák Ferenc square and Déli pályaudvar. The M2 replacement bus will run across Margit bridge and will also stop at Kossuth Lajos square and Batthyány square.

At Kossuth Lajos square, you can get off at Alkotmány street towards Déli pályaudvar, and at Bajcsy-Zsilinszky street towards Deák Ferenc square, which can be reached by trolleybuses 70 and 78. At Batthyány Square, you can get off at the temporary bus stop at the intersection of Csalogány Street and Fő Street in the direction of Déli Railway Station, where buses 11 and 39 will also stop during the track closure. Replacement buses will stop in front of the church on Batthyány Square towards Deák Ferenc Square.

• For those traveling to Széll Kálmán tér on the M2 metro, take the frequent trams 4 and 6 with a transfer at Blaha Lujza tér,
• For those traveling to the city center from the Hűvösvölgy and Óbuda areas, take the frequent trams 4 and 6,
• For those traveling to the city center from the Pasarét area and from the Astoria junction area to Buda, take bus 5,
• From Buda to the M3 metro, instead of transferring at Deák Ferenc tér, take trams 4 and 6 with a transfer at Nyugati pályaudvar,
• For those traveling by train, take the M4 metro with a transfer at Kelenföld train station.
