free outdoor cinema screenings in the City Park in Budapest for summer 2026

Free Outdoor Cinema Screenings Await You in Budapest's City Park This Summer

2026.06.03

Visitors will be treated to three free outdoor cinema screenings a week for two months in the City Park in Budapest.

In the green heart of the capital, the Pavilon Kert in the City Park will be hosting a series of free, thematic outdoor cinema programs three times a week in the coming months. Between June 3 and July 31, 2026, a special cultural experience awaits you in one of the capital's most important public parks, which aims to provide visitors with one of the defining community experiences of the summer.

The outdoor cinema, which comes to life under the foliage of century-old trees in the cooling green surroundings of the City Park, is returning based on the positive feedback from past years and is preparing an even larger program series this year. In recent years, Pavilon Kert has become not only one of the City Park's defining gastronomic venues, but also one of the capital's most important community and cultural meeting points, where concerts, outdoor programs and community events are connected.

The summer garden cinema series features three free screenings a week of blockbuster, classic and Hungarian films. The Wednesday evening "Favorite Classics" block evokes iconic works known to several generations, while on Fridays romantic and feel-good films bring the summer cinema experience. The Saturday "Family Favorites" theme offers shared relaxation and community experience for a wide range of ages.

The program series includes popular films such as Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, Grease, Mamma Mia! or the Addams Family. Screenings always start at 6 p.m.

The organizers aim to make the garden cinema not just a screening series, but one of the defining experiences of summer evenings in Budapest. The retro cinema atmosphere, the outdoor community experience, the gastronomic offer and the park environment together create a special urban summer program that is all about nostalgia, relaxation and community experiences.

The Pavilon Kert also plans to screen additional cultural and community content, as well as broadcast major international sporting events taking place in Hungary during the summer.

The organizers will continuously report on current events and the exact schedule of the outdoor cinema screenings on the official platforms and social media pages of the Pavilon Kert and the Liget Budapest.
