At the Vajdahunyad Castle, around the Millennium House and many other locations, you can also enjoy great, often free programs in the City Park.
If you have already taken a few photos on Heroes' Square, visited the Museum of Fine Arts or the Hall of Arts, or skated on the City Park Ice Rink, which is now in full swing, then it is time to head to the Vajdahunyad Castle. There will also be a free open-air cinema and a light-painted Magic Forest opening on December 5th, and families will also be treated to a carousel and festive adventures.
Free outdoor cinema and great children's programs at Vajdahunyad Castle
You can enjoy free outdoor cinema on Sundays, with Christmas classics such as Santa Claus, The Grinch, Howl, Burglars!, Frozen or the Polar Express.
Children can also enjoy the craft workshops at the Magic Workshop, where they can make fairy wings and magic wands, and on December 5th and 6th, Santa Claus will be waiting for the children on site.
The Magic Path, consisting of multi-station, playful tasks, also offers active recreation, but in addition to the carousel and the Magic Wheel, children will also be able to try new games this year.
The Magic Forest is open from December 5th to January 1st, so you still have plenty of time to explore!
Garden of Lights at the Millennium House and other programs
From here, it is worth walking over to the Millennium House, where the Garden of Lights, which is also free to visit, awaits you, with a fountain of lights, a light corridor and an illuminated mini balloon selfie point. It is sure to be a great experience, not only for children!
MTI writes that the cultural institutions of the City Park are waiting for families in eight locations with more than two dozen programs in the pre-Christmas period; the House of Hungarian Music, the Museum of Ethnography, the Museum of Fine Arts, the ResoArt Villa and the Millennium House are joining the series of events with particularly varied holiday programs this year.
And so that no one goes hungry, the Liget's gastronomic venues, from the Pavilion Garden to the Airship Garden, are waiting for you with festive delicacies as well as classic and seasonal dishes.
