Simple Plan at Barba Negra Budapest

Simple Plan will perform in Hungary in the fall. The world-famous Canadian rock band's Bigger Than You Think! concert series will be held in Budapest on October 21 at Barba Negra, organizer Live Nation announced to MTI on Friday.

Founded in 1999 and often described as a pop-punk band, Simple Plan's concert series, which originally started last year to celebrate their 25th birthday, will arrive in Europe this fall.

The band exploded with their first studio album, No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls, released in 2002, featuring hits such as "I'd Do Anything," "I'm Just A Kid," "Addicted," and "Perfect." The five additional albums they have released since then, and the successful songs including "Welcome to My Life," "Summer Paradise," "Untitled (How Could this Happen to Me?), "Shut Up!" or What's New Scooby-Doo? have firmly established their place among the stars of the genre.

The four-piece band formed in Montreal (Pierre Bouvier – vocals, guitar; Chuck Comeau – drums, percussion; Jeff Stinco – guitar; Sébastien Lefebvre – guitar, vocals, bass) have sold over 10 million albums worldwide, have headlined numerous prestigious festivals, performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics and have also worked with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.

Their videos have reached over a billion views on YouTube, while their social media presence has generated another billion views for them, thanks in large part to the #ImJustAKid challenge, which has also been joined by artists such as NSYNC, Ed Sheeran, and Venus and Serena Williams.

Last year, on the occasion of their 25th anniversary, they released a documentary about Simple Plan's career, and on their world tour, Avril Lavigne and the Offspring joined them.

"We will be performing our biggest hits and fan favorites that we rarely play live at our fall concerts. Neck Deep will be joining us. We can hardly believe that we will be performing at such iconic, huge venues as Wembley Arena in London and Accor Arena in Paris. It is a dream come true for us," the band wrote about the continuation of the tour.

For every ticket and VIP package sold on this tour, Simple Plan will donate $1 to its foundation, the Simple Plan Foundation, to help young people in need and to demonstrate the power of music as a tool for finding purpose in life.

The Simple Plan Foundation has donated over $3 million to various charities in Canada and has received numerous prestigious awards for its philanthropic work.

Simple Plan has previously performed at Budapest Park twice (2017, 2023).
