Loreena McKennitt - The Mask and Mirror in Budapest

We are pleased to announce that Loreena McKennitt will return to Hungary as part of her 30-stop European tour. The world-famous Canadian singer and songwriter will perform in Budapest on March 19, 2027, at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, where she will bring a special concert of The Mask and Mirror anniversary tour to the Hungarian audience.

The Mask and Mirror -30th anniversary tour starts on February 22, 2027 in Groningen, the Netherlands, and ends on April 3 in Paris, France. During the tour, she will also perform in Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and the United Kingdom.

General ticket sales start: May 29, 2026, 10:00 AM. The concert is organized in Hungary by Green Stage Production.

30-stop European tour for the 30th anniversary of The Mask and Mirror

The spring concert series is the third leg of the anniversary tour, which pays tribute to the album The Mask and Mirror, released in 1994. This album is considered one of the defining milestones of Loreena McKennitt's career, which combines musical influences from different cultures in a special way: Celtic, Spanish and Moroccan sounds are woven into a unique unity.

Upon its release, the Los Angeles Times described the album as "music with a deeply somber mood, full of spiritual longing and ancient echoes." The album has sold over two million copies worldwide.

Quoting Loreena: “I followed the paths of inspiration and created a musical world that evokes timeless questions. The album explores thoughts that have resonated through the centuries: who was God, what does religion and spirituality mean, what is revealed to us and what remains hidden forever, where is the line between the mask and the mirror?”

“We are delighted to be returning to Europe with the next chapter of The Mask and Mirror anniversary tour, after the first leg in southern Europe in the summer of 2024, where we performed at numerous outdoor festivals,” said the artist. “It’s exciting to delve back into these songs, which not only touch on Celtic history, but also timeless themes like religion, spirituality and moral dilemmas – which still have new meaning today. We can’t wait to meet the audience again and share this musical experience with them.”

European spring tour in 2027, covering nine countries

“A historical and musical pilgrimage”

The second leg of the tour will take place in eastern Canada in the fall of 2026, starting in Moncton, New Brunswick on October 13 and ending in Montreal on November 2. The concert series first started in Europe in the summer of 2024. Due to the great interest and numerous sold-out performances, additional concerts had to be added.

The first half of the concert will feature popular songs, while the second half will feature the entire album, in its original order. McKennitt will be joined by a distinguished group of musicians: Caroline Lavelle (cello), Brian Hughes (guitar), Hugh Marsh (violin), Dudley Phillips (bass) and Robert Brian (drums).

Loreena McKennitt’s diverse, Celtic-inspired music, which blends elements of pop, folk and world music, has sold over 14 million albums worldwide. Her recordings have been certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum in 15 countries on four continents.

The artist has been nominated twice for a Grammy Award, won two Juno Awards and received the Billboard International Achievement Award. She was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in March 2023 and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in May 2025.
