National Athletics Center

The stadium boasts a seating capacity of 36,000, which was temporarily increased for the World Championships. Post-event, the capacity was reduced to 14,000 to better suit regular events and community use. Designed by NAPUR Architect Ltd., the facility features a grass infield and is owned by the Hungarian Athletics Association (MASZ). 

Adjacent to the stadium, visitors will find a two-hectare sports and recreation area, developed on the site of the upper stands. This area has become a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, offering green spaces for relaxation and outdoor activities.

The National Athletics Centre is easily accessible via public transportation. The nearest tram stop is Közvágóhíd, which is well-connected to various parts of the city. For detailed information on travel planning and tickets, visitors can refer to the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) website. 

The National Athletics Centre continues to host various sporting events. Notably, it is set to be the venue for the 2026 World Athletics Ultimate Championships. Additionally, the Gyulai István Memorial, an annual track and field meet, is scheduled to take place at the centre in 2025.
