In the 1970s\, a rock &\; r oll group called themselves the Hollywood Vampires regularly visited Los A ngeles bars at night. The group was led by Alice Cooper\, joined by Harry Nilsson\, John Lennon\, Ringo Starr\, Keith Moon and Micky Dolenz. Their s tories became legendary\, even if the details of their nightly debauchery are often forgotten.
\nForty years later\, Alice Cooper revived the Hollywood Vampires name when he formed a classic rock superg roup with Joe Perry and Johnny Depp. In the spirit of the origi nal Hollywood Vampires\, a number of other stars were invited to contribut e to the band&rsquo\;s 2015 album\; guest appearances included Paul McCart ney\, Dave Grohl\, Slash\, Joe Walsh\, Perry Farrell\, AC/DC singer Brian Johnson\, The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger and Kip Winger of Winger. Holl ywood Vampires reached the Billboard 200 Top 50 and was accompanied by a t our.
\nIn 2019\, Alice Cooper\, Johnny Depp\, and Joe Perry revived the project for a second album. The resulting Rise featured guest appearan ces by Jeff Beck and John Waters\, who can be heard on the song "Welcome t o Bushwackers\," and was largely composed of original material.
\nIn 2023\, with no new material to release\, the band released their first li ve album\, Live in Rio. The recording\, produced by Bob Ezrin\, was record ed at the massive Rock in Rio festival in 2015\, where the band played to an audience of 100\,000.
